Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a UK Corporate Regions Engineering Lead to provide operational leadership for Hard FM services across a major banking client’s corporate estate.
Job Overview
This role is accountable for the safe, compliant and high‑performing delivery of engineering services across a defined UK region. Operating as part of the UK Region Account Senior Leadership Team, the postholder will act as the senior technical authority within the region, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, strong contract performance and continuous service improvement.
The UK Corporate Regions Engineering Lead will provide leadership across a complex, multi‑site corporate portfolio, maintaining critical building availability and ensuring all engineering activities are delivered in line with contractual, regulatory and client requirements. The role requires a credible senior technical professional capable of influencing at all levels and supporting the long‑term development of people, performance and service capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for Hard FM services across the regional corporate portfolio for a major banking client.
- Lead, manage and develop regional engineering managers and project staff (5 in total), ensuring clear accountability and high performance.
- Act as the regional Technical Lead and primary point of contact for the client, including senior reporting and contractual review meetings.
- Ensure delivery of all planned, reactive and corrective maintenance activities, maintaining critical building availability in line with contract requirements.
- Drive regional compliance with contractual SLAs and KPIs, including completion of all M&E and building fabric work orders.
- Use management information to support operational, investment and strategic decision‑making.
- Own regional engineering supply chain performance, driving efficiencies and identifying opportunities to enhance self‑delivery capability.
- Lead Critical Environment Operations, succession planning, team development and continuous improvement to support financial and service performance objectives.
Person Specification
- Senior technical leader with experience managing multi‑site, regional or national engineering operations within banking environments and/or data centres.
- Mechanical or Electrical engineering background with strong working knowledge of M&E systems in complex facilities.
- Proven experience in critical engineering within data centres, critical facilities or other high‑availability environments.
- Qualified in Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Confident and credible professional, able to challenge design, operational and investment decisions with authority.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and technical specialists.
- Demonstrated commitment to developing teams, succession planning and continuous improvement.
- Ambition and capability to progress into a future Director‑level role.
Additional Information
This role covers the client’s Corporate South region, with an ideal base in London. Regular regional travel is required to support site operations and stakeholder engagement. Typical attendance expectations include:
- London: 2–3 days per week
- Northampton: once per week
- Gloucester: approximately once every 1–2 weeks
Travel patterns may vary depending on operational needs. A full UK driving licence is essential.
