SEN Teacher Unqualified Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with a specialist SEMH provision in the Andover area to recruit a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher or experienced Unqualified Teacher for a September start. This is a permanent opportunity within a structured and supportive setting for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The school is open to both Qualified Teachers (QTS) and experienced Cover Supervisors / Unqualified Teachers who have strong classroom presence and a genuine interest in working within SEN.
You will be delivering a primary‑style curriculum to KS3‑aged pupils, adapting learning to meet individual needs while focusing on behaviour support, engagement, and building confidence. This is a highly rewarding role where strong relationships, consistency, and adaptability are key.
The Role:
- Deliver a primary curriculum to KS3 pupils within an SEMH setting
- Lead lessons independently and support pupil learning
- Plan and adapt lessons to suit a range of needs
- Support pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Build strong, positive relationships with students
- Work closely with teaching assistants and pastoral teams
- Maintain a safe, calm, and structured classroom environment
- Monitor progress and support pupil development
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS, or
- Experienced Cover Supervisor / Unqualified Teacher with strong classroom experience
- Confident leading a class and managing behaviour independently
- Experience working with young people, ideally within SEN or SEMH
- Resilient, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Passionate about supporting pupils who need additional structure and support
Contract Details:
- Position: SEN Teacher / Unqualified Teacher
- Location: Andover
- Start Date: September
- Working Pattern: Full‑time
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Pay Rate: £21,731 - £33,902 per annum
- Key Stage: KS3 (Primary Curriculum)
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- QTS advantageous but not essential
- SEN or SEMH experience highly beneficial
- Safeguarding training can be provided
