Prospero Teaching is recruiting confident and motivated Unqualified Teachers to work in secondary schools across the Southampton area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong classroom experience who are looking to take the next step in their education career.
As an Unqualified Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre‑planned lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting pupils to achieve positive learning outcomes. This role is ideal for experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, tutors, graduates, and aspiring teachers looking to gain valuable teaching experience.

The Role:
- Deliver lessons across a range of subjects using pre‑prepared materials
- Lead classes independently and maintain positive learning environments
- Support pupils to remain engaged and on task throughout lessons
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit varying pupil needs
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback where required
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people in an educational or support setting
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, or similar role desirable
- Confident managing groups of students independently
- Strong communication and classroom leadership skills
- Adaptable, resilient, and proactive approach
- Passionate about supporting young people and education
- Graduates and aspiring teachers encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
- Position: Unqualified Teacher
- Location: Southampton
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Pattern: Full‑time
- Pay Rate: Up to £130 per day
- Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- Previous classroom experience desirable
- Experience working with young people essential
- Safeguarding training can be provided
- Teacher training aspirations welcomed
