Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Wellingborough that is looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Unqualified Teacher on a full-time, permanent basis, starting as soon as possible.
This role would be well suited to graduates, Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, tutors, sports coaches, youth workers, mentors, or aspiring teachers who are keen to develop their classroom experience and take the next step towards a career in education.
You will work alongside experienced teachers and school leaders, gaining valuable practical experience in lesson delivery, classroom management, behaviour management, and supporting pupil progress. The school is committed to supporting aspiring educators in developing the skills and confidence required for a successful career in teaching.
The position would be particularly suitable for candidates considering a PGCE, School Direct, SCITT, or other teacher training route, providing an excellent foundation for progression into qualified teaching.
The Role
- Deliver engaging, pre-planned lessons across the primary curriculum.
- Lead whole-class learning and activities in the absence of the regular class teacher.
- Establish and maintain a calm, structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively using positive and consistent strategies.
- Encourage pupils to remain engaged, motivated, and enthusiastic about their learning.
- Support pupils with their academic progress, personal development, and wellbeing.
- Adapt activities and resources to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, teachers, support staff, and parents.
- Work closely with qualified teachers and teaching assistants to support effective learning.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in relevant training and professional development.
About You
- Experience working with children through education, tutoring, childcare, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or a similar setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident and comfortable taking responsibility for a classroom.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and professional approach.
- Good organisation, adaptability, and resilience.
- The ability to build positive relationships with children and establish clear expectations.
- A genuine interest in primary education and a desire to develop a career in teaching.
- A reliable and committed team player who wants to make a positive difference to children's lives.
