Upholsterer in Morley, City and Borough of Leeds

CareerMakers Recruitment is currently looking for an Uphalster on behalf of our ever-growing client based in Morley

Duties Include:

• · Build and assemble wooden manufactured seat frames using drawings
• · Measure, cut and install foam
• · Measure, cut, sew, stretch, and attach upholstery fabric.
• · Create smooth, properly aligned finishes with consistent seams, patterns, corners, and edges.
• · Operate hand and power tools, including saws, drills, staplers, foam cutters, and sewing machines.
• · Inspect frames, cushioning, and finished upholstery for quality and correct defects when needed.
• · Follow production schedules while maintaining workmanship and efficiency.
• · Keep tools, materials, and the work area clean and organized.
• · Follow all workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

• · Previous upholstery, furniture manufacturing or related experience preferred.
• · Ability to build and upholster cushioned seating from start to finish.
• · Experience working with wood, foam, webbing, and upholstery fabrics.
• · Ability to read measurements, templates, drawings, and basic production specifications.
• · Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
• · Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• · Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• · Reliable attendance and ability to meet production deadlines.

Physical Requirements

• · Ability to stand for extended periods.
• · Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, and pull while completing upholstery work.
• · Ability to safely lift and move frames, materials, and finished products weighing up to [insert weight] pounds.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday: 8am to 4.30pm

Pay: £15.50 - £16.50
