Overview of the Role
Urban Designer job in London, working on placemaking, visioning and masterplanning projects. The role will support new towns, neighbourhoods and garden communities across the UK, progressing schemes from early vision development through to design codes, regulatory plans and detailed neighbourhood layouts.
Practice & Project Information
Join a design-led practice working on placemaking projects across a range of scales, from towns and neighbourhoods to streets and buildings. The London studio is focused on sustainable design, biodiversity and creating well-considered places through collaborative project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to visioning and masterplanning projects for new towns, neighbourhoods and garden communities
Support projects from early vision development through to design codes and detailed layouts
Prepare regulatory plans, design proposals and presentation material
Work collaboratively with clients, consultants and local communities
Create sustainable and biodiverse placemaking proposals across varied residential densities
Use written, verbal and graphic communication skills to present clear design ideas
Required Skills and Experience
Postgraduate qualification in urban design
Demonstrable experience on large-scale urban design and masterplanning projects
Experience across a range of residential densities and neighbourhood design projects
Familiarity with visioning, regulatory plans and detailed layouts
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, CAD and hand-drawing
Architecture background would be advantageous
