Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum + Bonus + Company Car
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, starting at 7:00am

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) / Bodyshop Manager to join an established and busy accident repair centre in Chesterfield.

Our client is looking for someone with strong vehicle damage assessment experience who can also take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the bodyshop, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, to a high standard and within agreed timescales.

This position would suit an experienced VDA, Senior VDA or Vehicle Damage Estimator looking to progress into a Bodyshop Management role, or an established Bodyshop Manager who is confident carrying out vehicle damage assessments and producing estimates using Audatex.

The Main Purpose of the Role

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the accident repair centre, ensuring the workshop operates efficiently.
• Carry out vehicle damage assessments and produce accurate repair estimates using Audatex.
• Assess accident-damaged vehicles, identifying the full extent of damage and required repairs.
• Prepare and manage repair estimates, including supplementary assessments where necessary.
• Liaise with insurance companies, engineers and other relevant parties regarding repair authorisations.
• Plan and coordinate workshop workloads to ensure repairs are completed within agreed timescales.
• Work closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians, MET Technicians and other workshop staff.
• Monitor repair progress, productivity and quality standards across the bodyshop.
• Ensure repairs are carried out in accordance with manufacturer repair methods and industry standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency, repair processes and overall performance.
• Support the management of customer expectations and resolve any issues that may arise during the repair process.
• Ensure the accident repair centre maintains high standards of health, safety and customer service.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, Senior VDA, Vehicle Damage Estimator, Bodyshop Manager or Assistant Bodyshop Manager.
• Strong working knowledge of Audatex is essential.
• Experience carrying out vehicle damage assessments and producing accurate repair estimates.
• Good understanding of accident repair processes, including panel, paint and MET operations.
• Ability to organise workshop workloads and manage repair timescales effectively.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Confidence liaising with insurance companies, engineers and workshop technicians.
• A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to lead and support a team.
• If you are a VDA, previous bodyshop management experience would be advantageous but is not essential for an experienced VDA looking to progress.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and maintain high standards.
