Key Responsibilities

  • Building and assembling commercial vehicle bodies and associated equipment.
  • Working from engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and written specifications.
  • Fabrication and fitting of steel components and assemblies.
  • Using a range of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
  • Semi-skilled MIG welding and general fabrication duties.
  • Installation and fitting of hydraulic components and mechanical systems.
  • Assembly and fitting of trailer and vehicle body equipment.
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Working as part of a production team to meet manufacturing deadlines.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience within commercial vehicle body building, manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy engineering.
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Experience using power tools and hand tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Semi-skilled welding experience (MIG preferred).
  • Fabrication and assembly experience.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems would be advantageous.
  • Basic auto-electrical skills such as wiring, soldering, and fault finding would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
