Pulse Bodyworks Ltd is a busy, insurance-approved accident repair centre carrying out high-quality vehicle repairs for insurers, fleet companies and private customers.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Vehicle Prepper to join our expanding team.
We're seeking someone who takes pride in their workmanship, has excellent attention to detail and enjoys working within a fast-paced bodyshop environment.
The Role
As a Vehicle Prepper, you'll be responsible for preparing vehicles to the highest standard prior to painting, ensuring every repair is completed efficiently and meets our quality expectations.
You'll work closely with our Paint Technicians and the wider workshop team to ensure vehicles move smoothly through the repair process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare damaged vehicles for paint.
- Sand, mask and prime repaired panels.
- Carry out filler work where required.
- Prepare new and repaired panels to a high standard.
- Flat and denib painted panels when required.
- Ensure vehicles are fully prepared before entering the spray booth.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
- Work efficiently while maintaining excellent quality standards.
- Work closely with Paint Sprayers and Panel Technicians.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer and insurance repair standards.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
- Help maintain workshop productivity and turnaround times.
Essential Requirements
We're looking for someone who has:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Vehicle Prepper within an accident repair centre or bodyshop.
- Excellent knowledge of modern vehicle preparation techniques.
- Experience working on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Own tools preferred.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
Desirable Experience
Insurance-approved bodyshop experience.
Water-based paint preparation.
Prestige or manufacturer-approved repair centre experience.
Understanding of the complete accident repair process.
Ability to assist with polishing and finishing where required.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am – 5:00pm
- 40 hours per week
