Our client, a leading fleet management consultancy based in Flitwick, is expanding and looking to recruit a Vehicle Management Controller to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Vehicle Technician, Workshop Controller, Diagnostic Technician, Service Advisor or automotive professional with strong technical knowledge to utilise their expertise in a rewarding fleet environment.

The Role
As a Fleet Maintenance Controller, you will be responsible for managing vehicle repairs and maintenance across a fleet operation, ensuring repairs are necessary, cost-effective and completed efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing repair requests submitted via the company's internal system
- Assessing repairs to ensure they are required and appropriately costed
- Checking labour times and repair recommendations
- Authorising repairs and managing the repair process from start to finish
- Monitoring vehicle downtime and ensuring jobs progress efficiently
- Liaising with garages, workshops and repair providers
- Arranging hire or replacement vehicles where required
- Keeping drivers informed with regular repair updates
- Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
- Building strong relationships with repairers, drivers and clients
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Strong automotive technical knowledge
- Experience within a workshop, service or aftersales environment
- The ability to assess repairs and labour times
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Good IT and administrative abilities
- A professional and customer-focused approach
- The ability to manage multiple jobs at once
Previous fleet experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
