Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester

Venatu Consulting Ltd

Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester

Salary: Up to £34,000

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm - alternate Saturdays

Looking for a Vehicle Technician role without the constant pressure and heavy workload of a large dealership?

We are recruiting for an established, family-run automotive business looking to add an experienced Level 3 Vehicle Technician to its small and friendly workshop team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys the trade but would prefer a more settled working environment. The workshop workload is predominantly routine servicing and MOT testing, with diagnostics and general mechanical repairs as required.

Why consider this opportunity?

  • Small, family-run business

  • Friendly, close-knit workshop environment

  • Predominantly servicing and MOT work

  • Less emphasis on constant heavy mechanical work

  • Monday to Friday working

  • MOT training available for the right candidate

  • EV training available where required

  • Opportunity to become an integral part of a smaller workshop team

  • Junior Technician within the workshop to provide additional support

The Role

Working as part of a small workshop team, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing customer vehicles to a high standard.

Your duties will include:

  • Routine servicing and vehicle maintenance

  • MOT testing if currently qualified

  • MOT preparation and associated repairs

  • Vehicle inspections

  • Brakes, steering and suspension

  • General mechanical repairs

  • Diagnostics and fault finding when required

  • Identifying additional work where appropriate

  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment

What We're Looking For

Ideally be a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician with solid servicing and general mechanical experience.

An existing MOT Tester licence would be ideal, but it isn't essential. MOT testing will form part of the role, so if you aren't currently qualified, you must be willing to undertake MOT Tester training. The business is happy to support the successful candidate through the necessary training.

An EV qualification would also be advantageous, although training can be provided where required.

This Could Be Perfect If

You've spent years working within a large dealership or high-pressure workshop and you're ready for something a little different.

You may still enjoy being a technician but want a smaller team, a more personal working environment and a role where the day-to-day workload is largely servicing and MOTs rather than continuous heavy mechanical repairs.

If you're a Level 3 Vehicle Technician looking for a stable opportunity within a welcoming family-run business, we'd like to hear from you.
