We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Technician to join our client’s reputable independent garage located in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated automotive professional to develop their career within a well-established family-run business with over 40 years of operation.
Our client offers a welcoming workshop environment where your expertise will be valued. The Vehicle Technician will be responsible for fault diagnosis, vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs to a high standard, ensuring all work complies with health and safety standards and quality procedures. Working closely with the Garage Manager and team members, you will maintain excellent vehicle repair standards and contribute to the overall success of the centre.

  • Competitive salary between £30,000 and £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, with potential for salary reviews based on length of service.

  • Monday to Friday working hours: 8:00am-5:15pm Monday to Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm Friday.

Duties of the Vehicle Technician:
  • Conduct fault diagnosis and vehicle inspections.
  • Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance on customer vehicles.
  • Carry out larger repairs such as clutch replacements and cambelts.
  • Ensure all work aligns with health and safety guidelines and quality standards.
  • Provide accurate reporting on vehicle condition, safety, and reliability to the Garage Manager.
  • Adhere to workplace policies and procedures relating to safety and quality.
Requirements of the Vehicle Technician:
  • IMI/NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong, demonstrable work experience in vehicle repair, including larger repairs.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence with minimal points.
  • Motivated team player with attention to detail and a high standard of work.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
  • Individuals with a valid Class 4 MOT testing license will be highly advantageous but is not essential; training can be provided.
  • Ability to work towards targets and contribute positively to the team.
