Our client, a reputable independent garage in Kettering, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their well-established team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering stability, a friendly working environment, and opportunities for professional development.

Duties of the Vehicle Technician:
  • Conduct servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
  • Perform MOT testing and related repairs where qualified
  • Replace brakes, tyres, cambelts, clutches, and perform engine repairs
  • Undertake gearbox replacements and associated repairs
  • Diagnose and repair air conditioning systems, including re-gassing
  • Carry out welding and general mechanical repairs as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
  • Complete accurate documentation and clearly communicate work requirements
Requirements of the Vehicle Technician:
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
  • Proven ability to carry out servicing, repairs, and diagnostics
  • Experience working on brakes, tyres, cambelts, clutch replacements, and MOT repairs
  • Additional skills in air conditioning and welding are desirable
  • Current Class 4 MOT Tester licence is highly desirable; individuals with MOT experience and DVSA certification are preferred
  • Relevant qualifications such as C&G or NVQ Level 2/3 in Motor Vehicle Technology are preferred, though demonstrated experience will be considered
  • Full UK driving licence
