Our client, a well-established main dealer in Luton, Bedfordshire, is recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join their professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified Vehicle Technicians seeking a long-term position within a reputable, family-run automotive business with over 80 years of experience. The ideal Vehicle Technician will have strong technical skills, a commitment to quality workmanship, and a desire for ongoing training and development.

Benefits:
  • Basic salary of approximately £35,000, negotiable based on experience
  • OTE up to £40,000 annually
  • Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • One in two Saturday mornings, 8:00am – 1:00pm, paid as overtime

Duties of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Performing routine vehicle servicing and maintenance
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools
  • Conducting repairs on brakes, suspension, steering, and other mechanical systems
  • Carrying out vehicle inspections and safety checks
  • Identifying additional repairs required and providing accurate reports
  • Ensuring all work meets manufacturer standards and specifications
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and productivity
  • Adhering to health and safety protocols
  • Collaborating effectively within a workshop team to ensure efficient workflow
Requirements of a Vehicle Technician:
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent as a Vehicle Technician
  • Proven experience within a professional workshop environment
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills 
  • Knowledge of modern vehicle technology
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Professional attitude and reliable work ethic
  • Full UK driving licence
  • MOT Tester qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
