My client is looking for an HGV Technician Mechanic AND Light Vehicle Technicians to join their supportive team in Manchester and work on HGVs, Vans and Vehicles.
The Role of HGV Technician / Fleet Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic / Mechanical Engineer / LGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Light Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / Technician / LCV Technician / Van Mechanic:
Looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic / Technician AND Light Vehicle Technicians to join their growing workshop team.
This is a hands-on role suited to a practical, safety-focused technician who takes pride in high-quality work and keeping vehicles operating at their best.
What You’ll Be Doing as the HGV Technician / Fleet Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic / Mechanical Engineer / LGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Light Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / Technician / LCV Technician / Van Mechanic:
• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGVs, vehicle, LCV, Vans, Light Vehicles and trailers
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
• Preparing vehicles for MOTs and supporting DVSA inspections
• Completing safety checks, inspections, and defect reports
• Using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems
• Carrying out breakdown repairs where required
• Keeping accurate maintenance and compliance records
• Working closely with drivers and transport teams to minimise downtime
Requirements for the HGV Technician / Fleet Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic / Mechanical Engineer / LGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Light Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / Technician / LCV Technician / Van Mechanic:
• Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent) or in Light Vehicle Repairs
• Proven experience working on HGVs or LGVs OR Light Vehicles
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Commitment to health, safety, and compliance
• HGV Class C or C+E licence Desirable
• IRTEC accreditation desirable
• Experience with DAF, Volvo, Scania, Mercedes, or similar desirable
• Previous MOT preparation experience desirable
