What if your next role gave you everything you love about referral practice; interesting cases, experienced/accomplished colleagues, high-level surgery and state of the art equipment, without sacrificing your life outside of work?

Welcome to MARS and GARS, two of Victoria’s fastest-growing multidisciplinary referral hospitals, privately owned by specialists who still work clinically every day. That means decisions can be made quickly, ideas are encouraged, and people are treated like people, not numbers on a spreadsheet.

This is the kind of environment many surgeons hope exists but rarely find. A place where high-level Surgery, genuine collaboration, and a supportive team culture come together naturally. The team works hard, enjoys a laugh along the way, and genuinely enjoys what they do.

They are looking for more Specialists or Residency-Trained Registrars in Small Animal Surgery to join their outstanding team on either a full-time or part-time basis. You can be based in Melbourne, Geelong, or split your time between both hospitals, they’re only an hour apart.

We have all the sizes of all the locking plate systems, plus Biomedtrix I-Loc and complete IMEX linear, hybrid and circular systems to make your life as easy (or challenging) as you like.

If you enjoy IR, well so do we with both sites also equipped with intraoperative fluoroscopy.
  • Advanced neurosurgery is a big part of our case load and we love it. You will enjoy the full Invetra pedicle rod systems, Rita-Leibinger C-Lox titanium cages and a comprehensive range of neurosurgical instrumentation. It doesn’t matter if this isn’t an area of your interest, but if it is or you’d like to advance in this or other areas we’re certainly the place for you.

The culture here is something the leadership team is hugely proud of, supportive, ambitious, collaborative and refreshingly down-to-earth.

The Lifestyle bit

Melbourne is regularly ranked as one of the most livable cities in the world, and honestly, it’s not hard to see why. Incredible food, cafés, arts, live sport, beaches, wineries, national parks and easy international travel all sit on your doorstep.

Prefer a slightly slower pace when not at work? Geelong offers waterfront living, riverside walks, amazing cafés, wineries, golf courses and the famous Surf Coast nearby. With Torquay, the Great Ocean Road and beautiful beaches 20minutes from the hospital, it’s easy to see why so many people are choosing the Geelong region for a more relaxed lifestyle without giving up city conveniences.
