Vocational Tutor in Hounslow

Are you a Horticulture Tutor, gardener or grounds professional who'd love to use your skills to change young lives? This could be the perfect next step.

We're recruiting a Horticulture Tutor for a small, friendly specialist college in Stanwell, Staines. The college supports young people aged 16 to 25 with EHCPs, many of them with ASD, and horticulture is at the heart of what they do.

As their Horticulture Tutor, you'll help students grow practical skills, confidence and independence for the next stage of their lives.

What you'll do as Horticulture Tutor

• Plan and lead practical sessions in the college gardens and grounds
• Break tasks into clear, simple steps so every learner can take part
• Build English, maths and work skills into real tasks
• Track progress and celebrate every win, big or small

What we're looking for

• Real horticulture experience: an RHS qualification, a land based college course, or hands on work in gardens, grounds or landscaping
• Experience teaching, training or supervising others, such as FE lecturing, volunteer groups or Forest School
• A patient, warm and calm manner with young adults
• SEN experience is a big plus, but not essential. If you know your plants and have the right attitude, we'll support you with the rest
• A child and adult barred list DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

Why join as our Horticulture Tutor?

• Competitive daily rate, paid weekly
• A small, supportive college where you see the difference you make
• A dedicated consultant who works solely in SEN and supports you throughout
• Temp to perm opportunities
