Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Voids Surveyor to join a busy social housing team. This role is responsible for managing void properties from inspection through to completion, ensuring homes are returned to a lettable standard efficiently, safely, and in line with organisational standards.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on surveyor who can manage their own workload, build effective contractor relationships, and operate with minimal supervision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy and thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake pre-void, void and post-inspection surveys across the housing portfolio.
- Prepare detailed schedules of works and specifications for void properties.
- Monitor contractor performance, quality, costs and programme delivery.
- Ensure void properties are returned to a lettable standard within agreed timescales.
- Carry out site inspections and quality assurance checks.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.
- Identify and manage health and safety risks within properties and on-site activities.
- Investigate building defects and provide practical solutions.
- Liaise with contractors, housing teams, residents, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and survey data.
- Support continuous improvement in void turnaround times and cost control.
