The role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of young people during the night.
You will help maintain a calm home environment, respond to young people when needed, complete checks, follow care plans and make sure accurate records are completed before handover.
This role would suit someone who is patient, emotionally resilient and comfortable working independently while still being part of a wider team.
Main duties
- Support children and young people in a residential children’s home overnight.

- Work closely with the day team, senior staff and management.
What we’re looking for

- Able to stay awake, alert and professional throughout the night.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Calm and confident in challenging situations.

Desirable
- Previous experience in children’s residential care.
- Waking night experience.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it.
- Experience with trauma-informed care, EBD, complex needs or challenging behaviour.
