Lemontree Recruitment Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client for a caring and reliable Waking Night Residential Support Worker to join a children's residential home in Hove.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people, providing reassurance, safety and consistency throughout the night.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will help create a calm, secure and nurturing environment where young people feel safe, valued and supported.

The Role

As a Waking Night Residential Support Worker, you will play an important role in ensuring the wellbeing and safeguarding of young people during the night, providing stability, support and care when they need it most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment throughout the night.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Respond appropriately to concerns, incidents and emergencies.
  • Complete accurate records, reports and handovers.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and individual care plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work closely with the wider residential care team.

About You

We are looking for someone who is calm, compassionate and resilient, with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and young people.

Essential

  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work waking night shifts.
  • Availability to work Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a children's residential setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
  • Experience supporting children with trauma, SEMH or complex needs.
