Search Consultancy is recruiting an experienced Wallpaper Hanger for an active commercial refurb/fit-out project in Newcastle upon Tyne. Offering a competitive rate of £21.00 per hour (CIS), this position provides continuous full-time hours and long-term site continuity for a precision tradesperson who excels at feature walls and intricate papering.

Working alongside interior finishing teams, you will execute flawless wall covering installations across commercial interiors, hospitality spaces, or high-end developments:

• Surface Inspection & Preparation: Stripping old coverings, filling surface flaws, sanding, sizing, and priming walls to ensure optimal paste adhesion and perfectly smooth substrates.

• Layout & Measurement: Measuring wall drops accurately, checking pattern repeat dimensions, and establishing plumb lines to ensure perfectly straight vertical runs.

• Adhesive Application & Hanging: Applying trade-grade heavy-duty adhesives, hanging wide-vinyls, fabric-backed papers, feature wall coverings, and standard lined papers cleanly.

• Precision Trimming & Jointing: Executing double-cuts, trimming neatly around sockets, switches, architraves, and corners, and rolling seams seamlessly without paste contamination or surface glazing.

• General Decorating Support: Assisting with general commercial painting, undercoating, and glossing during preparation or transition phases between papering runs.

To satisfy site access rules and quality standards, all applicants must possess:

• CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating) CSCS card is strictly mandatory.

• Specialist Experience: Proven track record in commercial wall covering installation, wide-vinyl hanging, or high-spec decorative papering.

• Tools & Kit: Full decorator's kit including specialist papering tools (wallpaper shears, pasting brushes/rollers, plumb line/laser level, seam rollers, smoothing blades, cutting knives) and standard whites/5-point PPE.

• Transport: Reliable transport to commute to site locations in Newcastle upon Tyne daily.

• Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.

• Top Market Pay: Strong rate of £21.00 per hour paid under CIS.
