Teaching Assistant - Special Schools (Day-to-Day Supply)Walsall | Flexible Working | Immediate Starts AvailableAre you an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker looking for flexible work in specialist education?Hays Education is working with a number of special schools across Walsall that require reliable and enthusiastic day-to-day support staff to help cover staff absences, sickness and training days.These schools support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

• Autism (ASC)
• Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
• Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
• Communication and Interaction Needs
• Complex Medical Needs

The RoleAs a Day-to-Day Teaching Assistant, no two days will be the same. You may be:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
• Working with small groups of learners
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Supporting communication using visuals, PECS or Makaton
• Helping pupils access learning activities
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff

What We're Looking ForWe would love to hear from candidates who have:

• Experience working with children or young people
• Experience within special schools, mainstream schools, care settings, nurseries, residential homes or community support roles
• A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
