Warehouse Manager at Just Temps, Bury St Edmunds

Warehouse Manager– Just Temps is currently recruiting for an experience Warehouse Manager to join a well-established logistics business on a day shift based in the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk on a fixed term contract (3-6 months).

You will take immediate ownership of the Warehouse, Cross-Dock and Yard operations of the business. You will be monitoring and improving operational KPIs, taking ownership of issues, corrective actions and continuous improvement. Working hours are Monday – Friday, 45 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £18 - £25 per hour depending on experience.

Key Duties:

• Take ownership of labour planning, shift allocation, productivity and operational performance
• Drive freight accuracy and control, including scanning, identification, location management and robust loading/checking processes
• Improve warehouse flow and efficiency, reducing congestion, search activity, delays and turnaround times
• Drive customer service and quality performance, investigating complaints, damages and service failures and implementing root-cause corrective actions
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety procedures, including forklift operations, pedestrian segregation, vehicle movements and incident/near-miss investigations
• Lead, coach and develop warehouse supervisors and operatives, building accountability, capability and a positive performance culture
• Establish clear roles, responsibilities, training plans and performance standards across all shifts
• Work closely with other departments to ensure effective inbound/outbound planning and consistently high service levels

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years warehouse leadership experience
• Cross-dock operation and yard management experience
• Pallet Network experience (TPN, UPN, Pall-Ex, Pallet line, Pallet force or similar).
• Health & Safety leadership experience
• Strong people management capability
• Forklift operation knowledge
• Proven experience leading operational improvement projects. Immediately available or available to start at short notice
• Must hold a full driving licence and have access to own vehicle – this is essential
