Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Junior Warehouse Operative to join a busy facility in Bridgend.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining warehouse, crating and packaging duties with basic computer and administrative tasks. You'll help ensure specialist equipment is safely prepared, packaged and ready for national and international shipment.

No previous experience is essential, as full training will be provided. This role would suit someone who is practical, reliable, keen to learn and looking to build a career in warehouse and logistics operations.



What We Offer

  • £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Monday to Friday working pattern.

  • 30 days' paid holiday, increasing to 38 days with length of service.

Key Duties

Crating & Packaging

  • Cut timber and sheet materials safely using hand and power tools.
  • Construct bespoke wooden crates, boxes and pallets to specified dimensions.
  • Pack and secure fragile, heavy and specialist equipment for shipment.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure items are securely packaged.
  • Operate a forklift to move materials and assist with loading and unloading following appropriate training.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.

Warehouse & Computer Duties

  • Update stock information, job progress and shipping details on company systems.
  • Produce packing lists, barcodes and shipping labels.
  • Review digital drawings, cut sheets and technical specifications.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and work orders.
  • Respond to routine internal emails.
  • Support the wider warehouse and logistics team with day-to-day operations.


Requirements

  • Basic computer skills, including Windows, spreadsheets and data entry.
  • Good numerical and measurement skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn how to safely use woodworking and power tools.
  • Ability to safely handle and move timber, packaging materials and equipment.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Previous experience in warehouse operations, crating, carpentry, packing, manufacturing or logistics would be advantageous but is not essential.

A forklift qualification or previous forklift experience is desirable, although training can be provided.
