About the Company:
Our client is a growing supplier of professional cleaning equipment, supporting customers across a broad range of commercial and industrial environments.
They are investing in their new facility east of Coventry and are seeking a practical, reliable Warehouse & Workshop Operative to help establish and maintain the site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is keen to build a longer-term career within engineering or technical service.
Role Overview: Warehouse & Workshop Operative
This is a varied role covering warehouse organisation, machine preparation and general site support. You will help keep the facility clean, organised and ready for equipment arriving back from customer demonstrations or rental agreements.
You will also support the sales team with loading machinery onto transport vehicles, assist with basic maintenance tasks and learn more about the company's equipment and spare parts. A team from Italy will initially support the factory set-up, offering a great opportunity to learn from experienced technical colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
· Help set up and organise the warehouse, including racking, stock areas and general housekeeping
· Clean and prepare returned machines following customer demonstrations and rental agreements
· Maintain clean, safe and organised warehouse and workshop areas
· Support the sales team with loading, securing and unloading equipment for transport
· Carry out basic maintenance tasks, such as changing blades and other consumable parts
· Assist with stock control, ordering parts and managing workshop consumables
· Support the installation and set-up of the new facility alongside visiting technical colleagues
· Drive a company van to move equipment between sites or customer locations when required
· Develop knowledge of the product range, with the potential to progress into a Workshop or Field Service Engineer role
Key Requirements:
· Previous experience in a warehouse, workshop, factory maintenance or hands-on operational role
· Practical and mechanically minded, with the confidence to use basic tools
· Willing to learn about machinery, spare parts and basic servicing activities
· Reliable, organised and able to take ownership of day-to-day tasks
· Forklift licence would be advantageous
· Full UK driving licence would be beneficial
· Experience working with machinery, maintenance, equipment hire or industrial products would be useful, but is not essential
Package:
· Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience
· Monday to Friday working hours, 7:30am to 4:30pm
· Opportunity to support the launch and growth of a new facility
· Training and development, including potential college-based learning
· Opportunity to develop into a Workshop Engineer, Field Service Engineer or wider operational role over time, depending on performance and business requirements
