Warehouse Operative / Driver

We are delighted to be recruiting a Warehouse Operative/Driver for our client based in Follingsby Park, Gateshead. 

This is a temporary to permanent role. Hours are day shift: Monday to Thursday, 07:30am–4:15pm and Friday, 07:30am–3:00pm.

This role will initially focus on goods in although you will receive full training on how to pick orders and prepare them for dispatch.

Suitable candidates need a full UK driving licence, as occasional driving of the company van may be required to cover holidays. This will involve driving the company van to the lake district. 

Duties of the role:

• Working in the goods in area of the warehouse
• Receiving stock
• Booking stock onto the in house database
• Matching delivery notes with the system
• Checking quantities of stock
• Putting stock away in specific locations
• Manual handling
• Picking orders using paper pick lists
• Occasionally delivering stock to customers in the company van
• Using in house computer systems 

Essential Experience/ Attributes:

• Full UK Driving licence
• Computer literate
• Good attitude to work
• Conscientious and reliable  

Desired Experience:

• Previous experience in working in a warehouse/goods in environment would be advantageous
• Commercial van driving experience would be desirable but is by no means essential
