Warehouse & Yard Operator

Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious and motivated Warehouse & Yard Operator to join our team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day running of warehouse and yard operations, ensuring the safe receipt, storage, handling and distribution of inventory, materials and equipment.

You will play an important role in maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring materials are available when needed, and supporting efficient operations across the business. Working closely with Logistics, Service Delivery and Workshop teams, you will help maintain high standards of safety, quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, check, store, move and dispatch inventory, materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
• Carry out stock checks, inventory counts and asset verification to maintain accurate records.
• Complete inventory transactions and update records using SAP or other relevant systems.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse and yard environment, following all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Support Lean and 6S initiatives to improve organisation, workflow and operational efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with Logistics, Service Delivery and Workshop teams to ensure timely deliveries and shipments.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and increase productivity.
• Follow company procedures and quality standards while ensuring equipment and materials are handled and stored correctly.

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, yard or materials handling environment is desirable.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and complete inventory transactions.
• Good communication, numeracy and organisational skills.
• Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment safely; a valid forklift licence is desirable.
• Ability to undertake manual handling duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs (approximately 23 kg), where required and in line with safe handling procedures.
• A strong commitment to health and safety, quality and teamwork.
• A proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and contribute to continuous improvement.
