Our client is a well-established engineering business supplying specialist equipment and services to customers throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver to join their Purchasing & Warehouse team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and successful business offering a varied warehouse role with no evening or weekend work.

The Role

Working as part of a busy warehouse operation, you'll play a key role in ensuring goods are received, stored and dispatched accurately while maintaining high standards of safety, organisation and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving and booking in deliveries.

  • Unloading, checking, labelling and storing incoming goods.

  • Reporting shortages or damaged goods promptly.

  • Picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch.

  • Loading and unloading vehicles using counterbalance and reach forklift trucks.

  • Safely storing products within warehouse racking and designated storage areas.

  • Carrying out stock checks and supporting inventory accuracy.

  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.

  • Carrying out routine checks on warehouse equipment.

  • Working closely with colleagues across the warehouse and purchasing functions.

  • Following company procedures, quality standards and health & safety requirements at all times.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a warehouse or distribution environment.

  • Counterbalance and Reach Forklift licences.

  • Good understanding of stock control and warehouse procedures.

  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Good organisational and time management skills.

  • A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

  • A full UK driving licence.
