Warehouse Operative (Temp to Perm) in Kingston upon Thames

Warehouse Operative (Temp to Perm)
Location: South West London / Surrey border (on site)
Salary: £30,000–£32,000
Contract: 6-month temporary contract with genuine potential to go permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with occasional weekend work when needed

Looking for a warehouse role where your attitude counts as much as your experience, and where a temporary start can turn into a long-term future?

I’m working with an established and growing distribution business operating in a regulated sector. They’re looking for a hands-on Warehouse Operative to join their small, close-knit warehouse team and get involved in every part of the operation, from goods in to dispatch.

The role starts on a six-month temporary contract, and the business is keen to find someone who wants to make it permanent. Perform well, show what you can do, and there’s a real opportunity to build your career here.

What you’ll be doing

• Receiving incoming deliveries, checking them against paperwork and booking them in accurately on the ERP system
• Processing orders and requests from the sales and field service teams
• Picking, packing, labelling and dispatching orders accurately and on time
• Recording every stock movement correctly on the system
• Carrying out weekly stock counts and investigating any discrepancies
• Making sure products are stored in the right locations and stock records stay accurate
• Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy, safe and well organised
• Working closely with colleagues across the business and following company and health and safety procedures

What you’ll bring

• Around 3–5 years’ hands-on warehouse experience, ideally covering the full range of warehouse tasks
• Practical experience using an ERP or stock system for goods in, goods out, stock movements and order processing
• Good IT skills and accurate data entry
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and time management
• The ability to manage your own priorities and take responsibility for your work
• Good communication skills and a positive, professional manner with colleagues
• Comfortable safely handling items up to around 15kg
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, and able to commute easily for an 8:30am start
• The right to work in the UK

The person they’re looking for

For this team, the right attitude matters just as much as experience. You’ll be energetic, positive and hardworking, genuinely motivated to do a good job and keen to learn. You’ll be humble and respectful, happy to take feedback and follow procedures, and someone who takes pride in their work, owns their mistakes and looks for solutions. Above all, you’ll be a real team player. Systems and processes can be taught; a great work ethic can’t.

Why apply?

• A real route to a permanent role for the right person
• Monday to Friday daytime hours
• Varied work across the whole warehouse operation, not just one task all day
• Training and development within a supportive, growing business

If you’re a reliable, positive warehouse professional looking for somewhere to build a long-term future, I’d love to hear from you. Apply with your CV today.
