Warehouse Operator 

Location: Coppice Group Sites – Blackmill, Tonypandy or Dinas
Salary: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Various shift patterns available, rotating shifts and nights.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operator to join the Supply Chain & Logistics team at Coppice Group. Working across one of our warehouse operations in Blackmill, Tonypandy or Dinas, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of raw materials, packaging and finished goods.

You'll help ensure stock remains accurate and fully traceable, materials are available to production when required and customer orders are dispatched accurately and on time. This is a hands-on operational role where safety, attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Working Hours & Locations

Warehouse Operators will normally be assigned to one primary Coppice Group site:

•  Coppice Alupack – Blackmill
•  Sirane – Tonypandy
•  Group Warehouse – Dinas

Shift patterns may include rotating 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 shifts, fixed 22:00–06:00 night shifts or fixed day shifts. Your specific shift pattern and primary location will be confirmed at appointment.

Occasional travel to other Group locations may be required.

A Day in the Life

You'll be responsible for receiving and storing materials, picking and dispatching goods, maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring products are handled correctly throughout the warehouse. You'll operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, carry out equipment checks and report any issues promptly. 

Working closely with Warehouse, Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering and Quality teams, you'll help keep operations running smoothly while identifying opportunities to improve safety, efficiency and warehouse performance.

What You'll Do

•  Safely receive, store, pick and dispatch materials and finished goods in line with operational and customer requirements.
•  Maintain accurate stock levels, traceability and inventory records through effective warehouse systems and documentation.
•  Ensure materials are available to production on time to support operational continuity.
•  Operate forklift trucks and material handling equipment safely, completing inspections and reporting defects or issues.
•  Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
•  Support continuous improvement activities and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, stock accuracy and warehouse performance.
•  Communicate effectively with colleagues and external partners, including transport providers, suppliers and delivery drivers.
•  Follow company procedures and requirements relating to health and safety, food safety, BRCGS and quality standards.

What You'll Bring

•  Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or operational environment.
•  A valid forklift truck licence appropriate to the requirements of the role.
•  Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
•  Experience operating material handling equipment safely and effectively.
•  Strong attention to detail and a commitment to stock accuracy.
•  Ability to follow procedures and complete documentation accurately.
•  Good communication and teamwork skills.
•  Basic IT skills and the ability to use warehouse systems and technology.
•  A reliable, flexible and adaptable approach to changing operational requirements.
•  Ability to work independently and manage workload priorities effectively.

Desirable Experience

•  Experience within food manufacturing, packaging, FMCG or another regulated environment.
•  Knowledge of BRCGS, GMP or similar quality management systems.
•  Experience using warehouse management or inventory control systems.
•  Additional material handling licences or certifications.
•  Knowledge of Lean or 5S continuous improvement methodologies.
•  Health & Safety qualifications or relevant workplace safety training.

The Environment

This is a hands-on warehouse position involving regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching and manual handling. Operating forklifts and material handling equipment is a core part of the role, and PPE must be worn within designated operational areas.
