Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager to oversee operations during the AM SHIFT (8:30AM - 4:00PM) The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse management experience, and a comprehensive understanding of logistics and supply chain processes. This role is vital in ensuring efficient warehouse operations, process optimisation, and team supervision to meet organisational goals. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing daily activities, maintaining safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily warehouse activities during the am shift, ensuring smooth operations across shipping & receiving, inventory management, and order fulfilment.
  • Lead and motivate warehouse staff, providing guidance and support to optimise productivity and safety.
  • Oversee utilisation of Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP systems, and transportation management systems to coordinate logistics activities effectively.
  • Manage stock movements using forklift trucks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and control operational KPIs related to productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise workflow through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and manage relationships with external vendors.
  • Analyse profit & loss data to identify areas for cost reduction and operational enhancement.
  • Ensure adherence to shipping & receiving schedules, maintaining accuracy in documentation and inventory records via AS400 or similar systems.
  • Support transportation planning and optimise supply chain processes to meet delivery deadlines.

Requirements

  • Proven supervising experience within a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, AS400, and supply chain software such as process improvement tools.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and 3PL coordination.
  • Competence in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures and inventory control practices.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Analytical mindset with experience analysing profit & loss statements for operational insights.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is desirable.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.
