Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to work for a company in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire.
This role will involve supervising a small team of 4 on the daily operations, a forklift licence is desirable and access to your own transportation is essential.
Role: Warehouse Supervisor
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Per Annum
Location: Chalgrove, Oxfordshire
Hours: Mon - Thurs - 8.30am - 5pm, Fri - 8.30am - 4.30pm
Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Supervisor;
- Daily Operations: Oversee goods-in, picking, packing, and dispatch processes to meet carrier and customer deadlines.
- Team Leadership: Assign daily tasks, manage staff rotas, and provide on-the-job training for new or cross-trained operatives.
- Stock Control: Conduct cycle counts, audit inventory accuracy, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Health and Safety: Enforce UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) standards, ensure daily Material Handling Equipment (MHE) checks occur, and maintain site tidiness.
- Cross-Department Communication: Liaise with customer service and transport providers to resolve delivery queries or stock issues.
- Transport: Liaising with transport companies and loading and unloading Vehicles when necessary.
About you:
- Experience: Proven track record in a supervisory role within an SME environment.
- Licenses: Valid UK counterbalance forklift truck (FLT) certificate.
- Skills: Proficient with stock software/spreadsheets and confident in a hands-on, fast-paced setting.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with UK workplace safety regulations and manual handling best practices
- Physical Demands or role:
- Prolonged Standing: Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods within the shift.
- Heavy Lifting: Capability to manually lift, move, and carry packages weighing up to 25kg safely and unassisted.
- Manual Dexterity: Continuous bending, stretching, reaching, and kneeling to check pallets, pick stock, or wrap pallets.
- Repetitive Movement: Frequent gripping, pulling, and pushing when using manual handling equipment like hand pallet trucks
