The Role

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee the daily running of the warehouse, ensuring goods are stored, handled, and distributed efficiently. You will lead and support the warehouse team, maintain accurate stock records, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while driving productivity and operational performance.

Hours: Permanent, 45hrs per week, Sunday to Thursday (0700hrs to 1800hrs)

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse teams, including pickers, packers, and forklift operators.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, packing, and delivery of goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy through regular stock checks and rotation counts.
  • Ensure all orders are processed on time and accurately.
  • Maintain warehouse organisation, cleanliness, and safety standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks across all products.
  • Complete handover, checklists and closure reports on time.
  • Manage and maintain warehouse personnel rotas and leave requests.
  • Manage personnel absences and return to work processes.
  • Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and health& safety regulations.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate warehouse employees through appraisals.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently, following company policies.
  • Prepare reports on warehouse performance, stock levels, and staff productivity.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as logistics, procurement, and customer service.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Proven supervisory and team leadership experience.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good understanding of inventory management systems (WMS).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, inventory systems).

Desirable Skills

  • IOSH qualification.
  • Forklift and Reach qualifications.
  • Train the trainer qualification.
  • Food Safety qualifications.
