Mansfield District Council have a great opportunitiy for a Waste Services and Fleet Manager to join the team based in Mansfield. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £57,237 - £59,577 per annum.

Mansfield District Council is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Waste Services and Fleet Manager to lead the delivery of our waste, recycling and fleet services, including vehicle maintenance.

This is an important leadership role with the opportunity to make a visible district-wide impact. You will set high operational standards, support and develop the workforce, use performance information to drive improvement, and ensure staff, vehicles and resources are deployed safely, effectively and efficiently.

Reporting to the Assistant Director Neighbourhood Services, you will lead day-to-day operational delivery while contributing to the longer-term direction of the service. You will be responsible for workforce leadership, operational planning, service standards, and the effective use of staff, vehicles and materials. Working closely with managers and colleagues, you will help create a positive working environment and deliver shared service ambitions.

You will lead projects and programmes, review performance and benchmarking information, and use this insight to develop services, plans and strategies. With responsibility for significant budgets, you will support annual budget planning, monitor expenditure, lead relevant procurement activity, support funding bids and manage the Trade Waste service to maximise profitability.

You will also provide technical and operational advice across waste and recycling functions, make decisions and recommendations where guidance does not exist, and represent the Council at relevant local, regional and national meetings and forums.

As a nominated operator-licence holder, you will lead on driver and vehicle compliance. You will also champion continuous improvement, report on service performance, maintain good public relations, and oversee the investigation of and response to complaints.
