Golden Fox Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established, independently owned Water Hygiene and Compliance specialist, who are looking to appoint a Water Hygiene Engineer to support their growing team across Berkshire and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer, or a technically capable plumber looking to move into the Water Hygiene sector, to join a business that genuinely invests in training, development and progression.

You’ll work across a varied portfolio of sites, completing a mixture of routine Water Hygiene monitoring, disinfection and remedial duties. The company can offer secure, long-term work, a supportive team environment and the chance to build further technical experience within the industry.

The Role

As a Water Hygiene Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned Water Hygiene and compliance tasks, including:

  • Hot and cold-water temperature monitoring
  • Flushing little-used outlets
  • Showerhead cleaning, descaling and disinfection
  • Water sampling
  • TMV servicing, inspections and remedial works
  • Cold-water storage tank and calorifier inspections
  • Tank cleaning and disinfection
  • Chlorinations and pipework disinfections
  • Basic remedial plumbing works
  • Closed-system testing, analysis and flushing
  • Producing accurate electronic reports and identifying any remedial requirements on site
  • Building positive working relationships with clients and site teams

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a Water Hygiene Engineer, Water Hygiene Technician or Plumber
  • A good understanding of ACOP L8, HSG274 and Water Hygiene compliance requirements
  • Experience carrying out temperature monitoring, sampling, showerhead maintenance and flushing
  • TMV, tank, chlorination or remedial plumbing experience would be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach on client sites
  • Comfortable completing reports using a tablet or mobile device
