Talent Guardian is recruiting on behalf of a growing water hygiene and compliance business, and we are looking for an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer to join the team.
This is a field based role covering a varied commercial client portfolio, delivering Legionella compliance and water hygiene services. If you know your way around HSG274 and ACoP L8 and you like being out on site rather than tied to a desk, this one is worth a look.
What you will be doing
- Routine water hygiene duties in line with HSG274 Part 2 and ACoP L8
- Hot and cold water temperature monitoring
- TMV servicing, testing and fail-safe checks
- Cold water storage tank and calorifier inspections
- Showerhead cleaning and descaling, and flushing of infrequently used outlets
- Legionella and microbiological water sampling
- Identifying and reporting non-conformances and remedial requirements
- Completing accurate electronic service reports
- Liaising with clients and site representatives day to day
- Supporting wider water hygiene and compliance works as required
- Plumbing experience is a real advantage
Not essential, but if you can also turn your hand to the following it will put you ahead:
- Dead-leg and redundant pipework removal
- Minor pipework alterations
- TMV replacement
- Tap, valve and outlet replacement
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Legionella remedial works identified from Risk Assessments
- Previous water hygiene or Legionella compliance experience
- A good working understanding of HSG274 and ACoP L8
- TMV servicing experience
- Plumbing qualifications or experience (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Someone reliable and professional who is comfortable working independently
