Water Hygiene / Legionella Risk Assessor

The employee will be responsible for the effective management and implementation of the following water management and energy services:
- To provide technical advice and guidance to both team members and GENEX site operatives in relation to current legionella and water hygiene legislation
Conduct Legionella risk assessments in accordance with applicable legislation and guidance (e.g. ACOP L8, HSG274)
- Inspect hot and cold water systems, storage tanks, pipework, outlets, and associated equipment
- Identify risk factors such as stagnation, inadequate temperatures, poor system design, and scale or biofilm buildup
- Produce clear, accurate, and compliant written risk assessment reports
- Provide practical recommendations for remedial actions and control measures
- Review existing Legionella management procedures and schematics
- Liaise with clients, facilities managers, and duty holders to explain findings and recommendations
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation, standards, and best practice
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Populating and programming Records for Buildings.
- Carrying out PPM tasks
- Maintaining and validating site records for required maintenance activities
- Complying with the requirements of the Legionella Control Association.
- Undertaking tasks defined in HSG 274 Part 1-3
Essential:
▪ Recognised Legionella Risk Assessment qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, BOHS P901, or equivalent)
▪ Must be computer literate and conversant with major software including word processing and spreadsheet packages.
▪ Good interpersonal communication, management and organisational skills.
▪ A thorough knowledge of current legislation and guidance on the control of legionella bacteria and water quality is also required.
▪ A thorough knowledge and understanding of current and future environmental legislation
▪ Have thorough knowledge of HSEs ACOP L8.
▪ Understand the requirements of the Legionella Control Association Membership. ▪ Awareness of Health and Safety issues and the need for safe methods of working.
▪ A full UK driving license is essential to be considered for this position.
▪ In depth knowledge and successful experience of dealing with corporate accounts and clients.
▪ Able to exercise initiative and prioritise duties accordingly.
▪ Able to work to a high standard against agreed timescales with limited supervision.
▪ Good communication, management and organisational skills.
▪ Willingness to work away from home during working week.
