Weekend Engineering Supervisor
The Hire Place LLP
A Maintenance Leadership Role That Gives You Your Week Back.
If you're an experienced Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Team Leader or Senior Maintenance Engineer looking for the next step, this opportunity offers something genuinely different.
Working just four days across the weekend, you'll complete your 40-hour week before Monday afternoon, leaving you with over three full days off every week before returning on Friday morning.
If you're looking for a better work-life balance without compromising on salary or responsibility, this could be exactly what you've been waiting for.
The Working Pattern:
Friday: 8 hours (Day Shift - Flexibility)
Saturday: 12 hours (6:00am - 6:00pm)
Sunday: 12 hours (6:00am - 6:00pm)
Monday: 8 hours (6:00am - 2:00pm)
The Opportunity
Weekend Engineering Supervisor to lead engineering operations during a period where senior management presence is naturally reduced.
You'll be expected to lead from the front—remaining hands-on when needed whilst providing leadership, direction and technical support to a close-knit team of three Maintenance Engineers.
It's the ideal balance between practical engineering and people management.
You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, prioritise workloads, coordinate planned maintenance and ensure production is supported safely and efficiently throughout the weekend.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and motivating a team of three Maintenance Engineers.
- Planning and coordinating preventative maintenance activities.
- Supervising reactive maintenance and breakdown response.
- Remaining hands-on with fault finding, diagnostics and repairs when required.
- Prioritising engineering workload to minimise downtime.
- Ensuring planned maintenance is completed to schedule.
- Recording maintenance activities and work orders accurately.
- Driving high engineering standards and continuous improvement.
- Identifying recurring equipment issues and feeding reliability improvements back into the wider engineering function.
- Taking ownership of engineering decisions during weekend operations where there is less senior management support available.
