Structural Steel Welder, Temporary Contract, Coatbridge, £18.41 per hour

Responsibilities

• Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–5:00pm; Friday, 8:00am–2:30pm. Breaks include 20 minutes unpaid and 30 minutes paid.
• Fabricate structural steel beams within a busy workshop environment.
• Carry out MIG welding to a high standard.
• Work with structural steel components ranging from approximately 0.5 tonnes to 100 tonnes.
• Read, interpret and work accurately from detailed Tekla drawings and technical specifications.
• Ensure fabricated components meet required quality and project standards.
• Follow safe working practices and maintain a clean, organised workshop environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in MIG welding
• Previous experience fabricating structural steel beams.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret Tekla drawings.
• Strong understanding of detailed engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Experience working with heavy structural steel is highly desirable.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
• Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a workshop team.
