Location: Outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Salary: £14.50 – £15.80 per hour (£30,160 – £32,864 per annum DOE)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break), with overtime available
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
 

Our client, a well-established family-run engineering manufacturer based on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, is looking to recruit an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include:

• MIG welding and fabricating a range of steel components and assemblies.
• Working with materials ranging from 1.5mm sheet metal through to heavy gauge box section and plate.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to produce accurate fabrications.
• Producing high-quality welds in line with company quality standards.
• Using a variety of fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
• Working closely with the production team to achieve daily and weekly manufacturing targets.
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure all finished work meets specification.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Following all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• The ability to produce clean, consistent welds on materials ranging from 1.5mm to 20mm.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Good fabrication skills and the ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.
• A strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
• A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• TIG welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
