Salary: £15-£18per hour (depending on experience)

Job Overview for Welder/Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, ensuring precision and quality in all work. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in various welding and fabrication techniques. The position involves working with power tools, and hand tools to produce high-quality metal assemblies in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities for Welder/Fabricator

  • Perform MIG welding and other welding processes to fabricate metal components according to specifications
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other materials
  • Conduct quality checks on welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • All aspects of fitting and maintenance work.
  • Plant repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or structures
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and project specifications

Qualifications for Welder/Fabricator

  • Proven experience in welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment such as shears, grinders, and drills
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret measurements accurately
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
  • Prior experience in assembly work is desirable but not essential
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with a proactive approach to safety and quality standards
