The Company A well-established manufacturing company is looking to recruit an experienced Welder / Fabricator / Mechanical Fitter to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy manufacturing environment where you'll be involved in a wide variety of fabrication, welding and mechanical engineering projects, supporting production and continuous improvement across the site.

The Role Working within the engineering workshop and across the manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for manufacturing bespoke components, carrying out fabrication and welding work, supporting machinery repairs and contributing to engineering improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture bespoke machine components, guards, brackets, frameworks and conveyors.
- Carry out high-quality MIG welding and fabrication work.
- Operate manual centre lathes, milling machines and other workshop machinery.
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of fabricated components.
- Manufacture replacement machine parts from engineering drawings.
- Repair rollers, shafts, bearing housings and other production equipment.
- Support mechanical breakdowns where machining or fabrication expertise is required.
- Assist with machinery installations, modifications and continuous improvement projects.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and comply with all health and safety procedures.
- Time-served Welder/Fabricator, Mechanical Engineer or completed recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Strong MIG welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience operating manual centre lathes and milling machines.
- Mechanical fitting experience.
- Ability to manufacture components from engineering drawings.
- Experience repairing industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Excellent fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with pride in producing quality workmanship.
- Flexible approach with the ability to support engineering projects and breakdowns.
- Knowledge of conveyors, rollers, bearings and shafts.
- Forklift, MEWP or Abrasive Wheels certification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
