MIG/TIG Welder Fabricator

Pay: £16.81 – £20.17 per hour
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm | Friday 7:30am–1:30pm
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 4:30pm and at weekends

The Role:

We are currently looking for an experienced MIG/TIG Welder Fabricator to join our workshop team on an initial 13 week temp to perm contract.

The role is predominantly workshop-based, with approximately 95% workshop and 5% site work. You will be working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, carrying out welding, fabrication, installation and repair work to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• MIG and TIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Fabricating and welding internal and external staircases.
• Reading and working accurately from technical drawings.
• Carrying out fabrication and installation work on site when required.
• Using workshop machinery including guillotines and press brakes.
• Carrying out gearbox repairs and associated fabrication work.
• Measuring, cutting, forming and preparing materials accurately.
• Ensuring all work is completed to the required quality and specification.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a MIG/TIG Welder Fabricator.
• Strong MIG and TIG welding skills.
• Ability to confidently read and follow technical/engineering drawings.
• Previous experience operating a press brake.
• Previous experience using a guillotine.
• Experience working with mild steel and stainless steel.
• Aluminium welding experience is highly desirable.
• Fabrication experience, ideally including staircases or structural fabrication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
