Nicholas Associates are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Welder to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Barnsley.

The Role
Working as part of a skilled manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the fabrication and MIG welding of mild steel components, working to consistently high standards of quality, accuracy and workmanship.
The role will involve:
- Fabricating and MIG welding mild steel components to specified standards.
- Working from drawings, specifications and production requirements.
- Using jigs and assembly fixtures to manufacture high-quality, repetitive components.
- Operating automated welding and plasma equipment following appropriate training.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and product quality.
- Working effectively as part of a busy production team.
- Following all relevant health, safety and quality procedures.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in fabrication and welding.
- Good practical experience of MIG welding.
- Experience using jigs, fixtures and tooling within a manufacturing environment.
- The ability to consistently produce high-quality welds and fabricated components.
- A good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
- A reliable, positive and team-focused approach.
- TIG welding experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Hours & Pay
Shift
Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am-1:30pm
Regular structured overtime is available.
Salary & Overtime
- Guaranteed starting salary of £36,150
- Guaranteed minimum weekly bonus of £50.
- Enhanced overtime rates available:
- £24.20 per hour - Level A overtime (1.5x).
- £32.26 per hour - Level B overtime (2x).
- Additional monthly bonus linked to business performance, averaging approximately £280-£350 per month (for guidance only).
- Annual bonus, with a recent average of approximately £500
