Role: Heavy Duty MIG Welder
Start Date: Immediate Start
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:30 (40 hours per week)
Pay: £16.00 - £17.00 per hour (Weekly Pay) + Pay Review After 3 Months
Are you an experienced Heavy Duty MIG Welder looking for a long-term opportunity? We're recruiting for a skilled welder to join a well-established engineering company in Ipswich, manufacturing and fabricating large, heavy-duty steel equipment.
This isn't light fabrication - you'll be working with heavy gauge mild steel (20mm+), producing robust, high-quality welds on large engineering components. Overtime is regularly available during busy periods and is paid at enhanced rates.
Heavy Duty Welder Duties:
- Heavy-duty MIG welding on 20mm+ mild steel
- Fabricating and assembling large steel components
- Working from detailed engineering drawings and weld symbols
- Using cutting, drilling and grinding machinery
- Maintaining high standards of weld quality and accuracy
- Working safely in line with company Health & Safety procedures
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in heavy fabrication and heavy-duty MIG welding
- Confident welding thick section mild steel (20mm+)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision
- Fabrication experience is highly desirable and may attract a higher hourly rate
