We are looking for an experienced MIG Welder/Fabricator to join our skilled and friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and wants to develop their skills within a growing fabrication business.

Key Responsibilities

  • MIG welding a range of steel fabrications, primarily mild steel.
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings and welding specifications.
  • Fabricating, assembling and welding components to required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, drilling and fitting.
  • Carrying out visual inspections of your own work to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
  • Working safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organised work area.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards and project requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a MIG Welder/Fabricator within a steel fabrication or engineering environment.
  • Strong MIG welding skills, particularly with mild steel.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering/fabrication drawings.
  • Good fabrication and fitting skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and to specified tolerances.
  • Good understanding of workshop health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Desirable

  • Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications.
  • Experience working on structural steel or bespoke fabrication projects.
  • Experience with stainless steel or aluminium fabrication.
  • Experience working to recognised welding and fabrication standards.
  • Experience within demanding industries such as structural, offshore, oil and gas or nuclear.
