We are looking for an experienced MIG Welder/Fabricator to join our skilled and friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and wants to develop their skills within a growing fabrication business.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding a range of steel fabrications, primarily mild steel.
- Reading and working from engineering drawings and welding specifications.
- Fabricating, assembling and welding components to required dimensions and tolerances.
- Preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, drilling and fitting.
- Carrying out visual inspections of your own work to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
- Working safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organised work area.
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards and project requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a MIG Welder/Fabricator within a steel fabrication or engineering environment.
- Strong MIG welding skills, particularly with mild steel.
- Ability to read and understand engineering/fabrication drawings.
- Good fabrication and fitting skills.
- Ability to work accurately and to specified tolerances.
- Good understanding of workshop health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Desirable
- Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications.
- Experience working on structural steel or bespoke fabrication projects.
- Experience with stainless steel or aluminium fabrication.
- Experience working to recognised welding and fabrication standards.
- Experience within demanding industries such as structural, offshore, oil and gas or nuclear.
