Our engineering clients based in Farnborough have an exciting opportunity for a Welder to join their growing team.
Production
• Interpret and accurately understand detailed drawing packs. • Cut and weld metal products to fabricate parts and sub-assemblies.
• Set up and operate welding plants and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assemble parts and structures by aligning and joining through welding.
• Prepare finished products by cleaning in readiness for painting.
• Communicate with other departments as and when required.
Documentation
• Ensure that drawings align with the production orders, including revisions to parts and part numbers.
• All previous operations should be completed before welding starts.
• First off will be carried out on all parts.
• Documentation is stamped to confirm that the part manufactured has been completed to the drawing and meets the requirements.
• All working procedures to be up to date and followed appropriately.
• Ensure paperwork is correctly filled in and to a high standard.
Productivity
• Complete assigned daily tasks within the allocated timeframes, consistently aiming to meet or exceed productivity targets. Proactively communicate any delays, including the causes, to the Cell Leader or relevant stakeholders.
• Make sure sundries are organised and labelled, and make sure stock is kept to the required level with cell leader updates. • Assist the shop floor if required for other duties.
• Make sure work-in-progress shelves are kept organised and tidy where possible.
Required skills & experience:
- Welding experience – aluminium thin gauge materials, mild steel and stainless steel required
- Proficient in welding processes – MIG & TIG
- Experience working within a fabrication environment
- Skills in using tools and grinders, manual/electric tools
Working hours:
38 hours – Monday – Friday
