About the role

We're recruiting experienced MIG and TIG welders for a busy manufacturing client in Huddersfield. You'll be welding structural and precision components to engineering drawings, working as part of a small, skilled team in a fast-paced industrial environment.



Key responsibilities

  • Carry out MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding on steel and stainless components (and aluminium where required).

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and job instructions.

  • Set up welding equipment, select correct consumables, and adjust parameters to suit material and thickness.

  • Perform fit-up, tack welding, and final welding to specification while controlling distortion.

  • Conduct self-inspection and basic quality checks; report any defects or non-conformances.

  • Use hand and power tools (grinders, saws, drills) and basic measuring equipment.

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all health & safety procedures.



What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a MIG and/or TIG welder in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tolerances.

  • Strong focus on quality, safety, and meeting production targets.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Welding qualifications/certificates are advantageous but not essential if you can demonstrate strong practical ability.
