About the Client: Our client is a well-established mechanical engineering contractor specializing in commercial and industrial installations. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality pipework solutions for complex heating, ventilation, and power systems across various sectors. Due to an expanding project portfolio, they are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Welder / Pipefitter to join their workshop and site installation team.

Role Overview: Working as part of a dedicated mechanical team, you will be responsible for the off-site pre-fabrication of pipework within the workshop, followed by the delivery and installation of these systems on-site. The successful candidate will work predominantly with stainless steel pipe within boiler rooms and plant rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and weld pipework systems in a workshop environment to high engineering standards.

  • Work primarily with stainless steel piping (TIG/MMA processes as applicable).

  • Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and isometric schematics accurately.

  • Transport pre-fabricated pipework sections to client sites.

  • Execute on-site installation of pipework, plant equipment, and boiler room components.

  • Ensure all welding and fitting work complies with relevant health, safety, and industry standards.

  • Conduct pressure testing and quality checks on completed joints.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Welder and Pipefitter within a commercial or industrial setting.

  • Demonstrable experience working with stainless steel pipework.

  • Relevant welding qualifications/coding (e.g., ASME IX, BS EN ISO standards) are highly advantageous.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex isometric and engineering drawings.

  • Valid CSCS card (or equivalent trade card).

  • A flexible approach to traveling to various client sites for installations.

  • Full UK driving license is preferred.
