The Role

We’re looking for a skilled Wet Worker / Wet Trade Operative to join our Essex Maintenance Team, delivering repairs and maintenance services across the Estuary Housing portfolio.

You’ll lead with your wet trade expertise while also supporting wider multi-trade tasks to ensure high-quality, well-rounded repairs. You’ll deliver a reliable, resident-focused service with a focus on first-time fixes and professional standards.

What You’ll Do

• Carry out wet trade works including plastering, rendering, screeding, patch repairs, skimming, and making good following maintenance works.

• Support multi-trade repairs including:

• Wall and floor tiling

• Basic plumbing repairs

• 1st and 2nd fix carpentry

• Painting and decorating to a professional standard

• Prepare surfaces and complete finishing works to a high standard.

• Record work accurately in real time via the Axis mobile app.

• Collaborate with supervisors, planners and admin teams to keep delivery smooth and efficient.

• Complete risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures on every job.

• Support apprentices and uphold Axis’s high standard of customer service.

• Work across occupied residential properties and be available to participate in out-of-hours support or emergency callout rota when required.

About You

You’re a reliable, adaptable tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality work across multiple trades. You communicate clearly with residents, work well as part of a team, and help us maintain safe, warm, well-presented homes across the portfolio.

Requirements

• Up to £38,000 depending upon experience

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plastering, Multi-Trade, Construction Operations, or equivalent qualification

• Proven experience in wet trades including plastering, rendering, screeding and tiling

• Experience across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, decorating, making good)

• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively

• Full UK driving licence and well-maintained tool kit

• Knowledge of social housing repairs & maintenance

• Strong Health & Safety awareness and attention to detail
